People and social media
We talk in class about the effect that social media have in our life and what we think the future will be as regards these impact of social media. After discussing about the topic we were ask to write an essay. Here is my work.
Social media is a new communication via in human life. Lately, due to this modern media we can clearly observe how human relationships have been affected and will be affected by the new technologies. However, we can imagine two opposite paths to the future.
There is no doubt that these new means of communication have greatly impact our lives, in both ways positive and negative. In a positive way since now we can communicate with who every we want and no depend on the distance the other person is. On the contrary, it have affect our lives in a negative way because it has created a barrier in physical relationships. Now we mainly talk through our devices and not face to face. Also, people that are not familiar with social media or can’t afford a device may feel left out and his/her relations with others can be deteriorated as a consequence of not having this communication via. So generally speaking, human relationships have suffered both beneficial and bad consequences.
As regards how social media will affect human relationships in the future, there are two possible perspectives. One of the perspective is that there is a possibility that people might become aware of the effect of these means. Consequently, will not allow it to rule their lives and will leave them aside and start having more physical relationships. While others feel that social media will controll our lives, or even that the situation is going to get worst. For example, the only way to socialize will be by the devices and will slowly start becoming the motor of our lives, everything will depend on social media. I personally think that both situations are possible, however leaving completely aside social media will be impossible.
To sum up, social media have affected, is affecting and will affect human relationships. These changes are both, favorable and negative. When we think about the future it can became worse, for example people depending on social media more than now, or we start to get aware about the situation and we start leaving aside technologies. Nevertheless, the future depends on people’s decision, are we able to eliminate social media form our lives?
