Book review "The Phoenix"

In this activity I made a book review of the short story, "The Phoenix" by Sylvia Townsend Warner. Here I leave you my work:

The Phoenix was written by Sylvia Townsend Warner in 1940. It is set in England, during the Second World War.
It is based on a noble man's life called Lord Strawberry. He was the owner of an aviary. His dream was to get the exotic bird, The Phoenix, he even had a cage specially for it. This bird was only found in Arabia. So Lord Strawberry decided to go himself to look it, because he was tired that his agents always brought him the wrong bird. He found it and went back home to England. He took care of it until he died after the Second World War. So after some money issues the bird ended in Mr. Poldero's hands, the owner of Poldero's Wizard Wonderland. But Poldero wasn't the pefect owner. He abused the bird just to earn money, but the bird stayed calm during all the time he abused of it. But in the end the bird took revenge in the most unexpected way.
In relation with what we get to know about each character is:
Lord Strawberry was a british noble man who had a big ambition for birds, he died penniless after the Second World War, he was pacient (we get to know this when he went to look for the bird) and he had independant thoughts. Other character is Poldero, he had an abition for money, he was evil, also he was materialis (we can see this when he abuse the bird) and he use nature for it comfort. Finally the main character, the Phoenix, it is a marbelous arabian bird, it was a lonley bird, quiet, unique, exotic, clam and it was abuse by Poldero..
To sum up, I think that the story is very intresting and is a clear example of the man-nature situation. I would defenitly recommend this book because of the imagination of the author.
