"Just one look"
A message of help
A brother in law in need.
A common office
A destiny that no one saw coming
My dad walks in.
A woman walks in.
A look and my dad felt
hundreds of feelings.
It was love at first sight.
But she was already taken.
With the work done.
My dad went home.
In his mind,
someone had taken the most important place.
She was the one.
Days passed and the woman was free,
no boyfriend, no other man.
First,
some chocolates.
Then,
lunch.
Later,
some nights out.
Love had knocked at their doors.
Wedding bells, a new house, crying babies,
trips, fights, diseases, laughs, memories.
The most important and wonderful years
of their life,
as they describe it.
Now,
twenty years later,
With just one look
both feel what my dad felt
the first time.
True love.
Amazing work Sofía!
ResponderEliminarYour poem is so engaging that the reader is filled with intrigue and wants to eat up each stanza so as to get to the end of this love story.
You´ve made great use of suspense and verse structure. Each line is a step forwards in this relationship. Congrats!!
