Diary Entry

    In this task we have to write a diary entry related to the poem "For my Grandmother Knitting" by Liz Lochhead. We had to write as if we were the grandmother form the poem, inculding the information that the poem provides to us.

Dear diary:

            Today was a typical Sunday. My family came today and we spent a beautiful time together, and Liz, my little angel, she is so grown up, I love her. I knitted lots of things today, I knitted a blue scarf for my handsome son Pablo, a green sweater for my lovely daughter-in law Gabriela and for my little angel Liz I knitted some purple gloves. My useless hands are hurting me a lot. Maybe I don't have the best relationship with them, they always criticize me and I always get angry but I love them, and by knitting I try to show that.

             But today Pablo told me "Stop knitting there is no need". That shocked me. There's no need? Are they serious? They don't understand me. Knitting is the only way to show them that I love them, my hands are useless, old and arthritic. Knitting is the only thing I can do. Of course I would love to be again that young fisher girl, I used to be, that bride, that mother of six that can do everything with just her two hands but I can't. I will not stop knitting! That is the only way to show them my love, they will have to understand that I will not stop knitting! Whether they like it or not.

Calbuco Volcano erupts in Chile

       The article was published on April 23, 2015 by BBC News from Latin America and Caribbean's section. It explains that the Volcano Calbuco in Chile, erupted two times and it affected many people. Some of them also had to evacuate the place and others were asked to remain in their homes. Alejandro Verges, an emergency director in Chile, tells that the volcano wasn't in observation. Classes were cancelled and airports suspended some flights.

On the Tv they had shown many episodes. Residents indicated that they were really scared and communicated "we had never seen this before". They only thought about saving natural resources.

Some places in Argentina especially the city of Bariloche had been alerted. Also Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt were in alert.

Chile is the second country with the biggest string of volcanoes after Indonesia.

This episode was more serious than the last eruption.

Terrible earthquake hits India & Nepal

   This article was published on Sunday 18 September 2011. It’s about a strong earthquake, but a few people died and many were just injured. It hit the north-eastern of India and Nepal. Many buildings were damaged. Indian seismology official Dattatreyan explains that there were two aftershocks and they had to be alert because there it could be  more. The prime minister of India, Singh tells that the region is big so they don’t know the exact damage and adds that rescuers and police are looking for people under the building materials, also he reported that there are lots people helping in different ways. Electricity collapsed.  Also neighbouring areas were affected.
